Oh haiiiii, me again. 😊
I felt compelled to write this post because like this man sitting on the rock here, I’m ready to set sail on my new adventure. 🌊
This brings me to a time where I interviewed Grandma Peggy for an assignment in undergrad. I had to interview someone who’s two generations older than me and write it up. Of course, I knew *exactly* what I wanted to hear Grandma talk about: her escape from the Viet Cong regime in the late 70s.
I remember calling her up in California for a couple nights in a row and listening to her recall how she and her family staged their escape like it was yesterday. So much had to be staged in advance from finding the right person, to arranging secret meetings, to gathering the right amount of food, and then lining all of this up with the tides and the phases of the moon. 🌕 (See what I did there? Tides are highest during the full or new moon.)
All of this had to be a clandestine operation because they only had *one* chance to escape. It was a true do it or die trying situation.
Fast forward to today. All of my cooperative coincidences have been assembled and now, it’s time to embark on my #doitordietrying adventure.
I’m ready to make my WBFF debut. I’m ready to be ready to be ready to flow towards bikini competition.
These last six months have been eye-opening. I’m acutely aware of what it feels like to be resilient, receptive, and CLEAR these days. 💎 It’s not so much a physical journey as it is an emotional one.
I will *feel* my way towards manifestation. I’m so excited about the amazing energy I’ll flow on the way there.
I just received my new training templates from Dr. Melissa Davis yesterday. People ask me what RP Strength is and I always tell them: They’re an elite consulting firm with a roster of Ph.ds who compete at the top of their sport. She has been calling the shots on my nutrition for the past 3 years. I fell in love with her Importance of Maintenance article and knew I had to appoint her as my coach.
This year, I upped the ante with a 1:1 nutrition *and* training combo plan. It seriously felt like Christmas this morning as I was looking at which lifts she programmed and getting a refresher on how to perform each of these lifts with proper form. I’m so excited to try new lifts like incline bench press, cable machines, and stiff-legged deadlifts. This weekend will be dedicated to adjusting my 10-rep maxes to make sure I’m hitting rep goals while practicing proper form. I’m in the business of building muscles, not ego. 💪😎
Of course, I can’t forget about the army of people I have in my corner like Gen, who writes me every so often to see how I’m doing and Darryl (aka my startup dad), who makes sure to tell me how brilliant I am every time he sees me, and Vernon, who makes sure to make fun of me every time we eat lunch together. 🤣For the record, he’s a Gryffindor and *I’M* a Slytherin. (More about that later.) 💚
There’s also my IG fitfam that’s still tribing with me after all these years. I think of this GIF every time I think of them:
Oh yeah, there’s also Miss Izzie aka the new friend I made last night. She’s behind me too. 🤗(NOTE: Instagram did not get this one.)
I’m looking forward to blogging more as my journey unfolds.
…and for now, I am complete. 💖
